JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended down 0.7% to 4,806 on Wednesday (June 19) inline with most markets in Asian region.

Investors opted to lock in profits on blue chips, property and banking stocks after their recent gains.

Astra International fell 1.12%, Perusahaan Gas Negara dropped 3.64%, Kawasan Industri Jababeka declined 2.63%, Bumi Resources shed 1.79%, Adaro Energy lost 4.7%, and Bhakti Investama fell 1%.

Among property stocks; Alam Sutera down 1.15%, Bumi Serpong Damai slipped 1.59%, and Lippo Karawaci dropped 4.85%.

Banking stock also closed in red. Bank Rakyat Indonesia declined 1.8%, Bank Negara Indonesia fell 2.59%, and Bank Central Asia down 1%.

Other falling stocks were Media Nusantara Citra (-3.15%), Waskita Karya (-2.17%), Wijaya Karya (-3.12%), Global Mediacom (-3.23%), Multipolar (-1.52%), Bukopin (-2.67%).

Nymex’s crude oil rose 0.28% to US$98.72 per barrel. The rupiah strengthened to Rp9,910 against the US Dollar.
