JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Plantation shares opened mostly lower grounds in the region Wednesday (June 19) morning as crude palm oil retreated in the futures market.

In Singapore, Wilmar International lost 1.21%, while First Resources down 0.27%. In Jakarta, Astra Agro Lestari and Austindo Nusantara Jaya lost 2.5% and 2.1% respectively, while Salim Ivomas retreated 2.15%.

Wilmar’s subsidiary PT Wilmar Cahaya Indonesia Tbk also down 3.33%, while Bakrie Sumatra Plantations and JA Wattie lost 1.82% and 2.74% respectively.

The benchmark September contracts of crude palm oil (CPO), meanwhile, opened lower by RM17 to RM2451 per ton on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives this morning. October and November contracts also down RM17 and RM16 respectively.
