JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Ministry of Foreign affairs released on Wednesday (Sep. 9) that 64 Indonesian people died in a boat sinking off the coast of western Malaysia.

Hermono, Indonesian vice ambassador for Malaysia, also revealed that around 20 other Indonesians were safe after rescued in the immediate hours after the incident.

According to Hermono, 45 out of 64 death victims have been identified. While 28 bodies have been brought to their respective hometowns in Indonesia.

Hermono said the Malaysian search & rescue team (SAR) has continued their search today in Sabak Bernam waters, Malaysia. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
