JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Attorney General HM Prasetyo revealed on Tuesday (Jan. 20) that about 60 death-row convicts are awaiting to be executed as now the legal process is underway.
Speaking to editor in chiefs from several national media, the Attorney General said the government will continue its firm action despite voices of dissent from human rights groups and foreign countries.
Prasetyo, however, did not explained whether, or not, all of 60 death-row convicts in the list of the execution are convicted drug dealers.
As reported earlier, six convicted drug dealers were executed by firing squads on Sunday (Jan 18). The six were Dutch citizen Ang Kim Soei, Brazilian citizen Marco Archer Cardoso Mareira, Malawi citizen Namaona Deni, Nigerian citizen Daniel Enemua, Indonesian citizen Rani Andriani aka Melisa Aprilia, and Vietnamese citizen Tran Thi Bich Hanh.
The first five were shot to death on the Nusakambangan Island, whereas the one Vietnamese woman was executed in the Boyolali Sitrict of Central Java. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
