JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Jakarta Governor Joko “Jokowi” Widodo launched on Thursday (Jan. 30), 30 new Transjakarta buses to improve the public transportation services for Jakartans.
The the improved service of Transjakarta would help overcome the dreadlock issue in Jakarta’s traffic. Flood, meanwhile, continues paralying the city.
This 30 new buses will serve the Corridor IX, Pinang Ranti-Pluit route.
DKI government has this month launched the operation of 120 units of new Transjakarta buses, making a total 506 units, still far away from target of 1,286 units.
The city’s administration is still struggling with the traffic congestion and flood, so the city allocates Rp3 trillion fund, up by threefold compared to last year’s budget, for purchasing 1,000 units of new Transjakarta buses and 3,000 units of minibuses. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
