JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – Forestry Ministry will reportedly revoke 12 forest concession licenses and warns another 35concession holders.
The Ministry had previously revoked 2 forest concessions licenses with total area of 105,600 hektares.
The holders of forest concession are required to give information about potency of forest products, log standing stock and state assets as part of strengthening commitment in forest exploration.
“Many concession holders have no sufficient fund to provide information about forest resources to the government,” said Raharjo Benjamin, vice chairman of Indonesia Forest Businessman Association. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
