JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Financial Services Authority (OJK) recorded 10 banks with poor financial profile, as their capital are below Rp1 trillion, and urge these banks to merge.
In addition, OJK also urge their shareholders to divest their stake ownerships in the banks. The banks with capital of less than Rp1 trillion are categorized as BUKU I as ruled by the central bank, Bank Indonesia.
OJK found on its survey conducted last year that 90% of total 109 commercial banks in Indonesia enters composite rating 2 in term of financial health assessment. While the rest is placed at 3-5 ranks.
